1. Southend Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals in Southend are governed by a Rental Agreement supplied at booking confirmation or when you collect the vehicle. That agreement sets out the specific terms, conditions, insurance cover, charges, and your responsibilities for that rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. Southend Eligibility

To hire a vehicle from Southend, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old for rentals at Southend (age limits vary by vehicle type; extra charges may apply to drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle category and held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification, evidence of address and any additional documents requested at vehicle collection.

3. Southend Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Southend location. A booking deposit may be required to secure your reservation. Full payment and security deposit are typically due at vehicle collection. All prices are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Southend Vehicle Collection and Return

  • At Southend you must inspect the vehicle thoroughly when you collect it and report any existing damage to staff immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Southend representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage found after return will be assessed and billed to you.

5. Insurance and Liability — Southend

  • Southend includes basic third-party insurance with all rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are stated in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. We recommend reviewing these options carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the Rental Agreement unless you purchase additional cover.

6. Cancellations and Amendments

Southend cancellation and amendment policies differ by booking type and notice period. Please consult your Southend booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for detailed terms. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Southend Prohibitions

You must not use the hired vehicle for:

  • Use of a Southend vehicle for any illegal purpose or activity. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials. Sub-letting to third parties or allowing unauthorised drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Purposes for which the vehicle is not designed...

Violating restrictions may result in Southend issuing immediate rental termination and charges.

8. Limits on Liability (Southend)

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Southend Vehicle Hire Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant service.

9. Governing Law for Southend

These Terms for Southend are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Modifications to Terms

Southend may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on the Southend website. Your continued use of Southend services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
